For ‘Broken Heel’ visitors, Synagogue Museum open today

If you want to take a quiet breath away from the excitement of the Broken Heel Festival, almost here, take a spec of time and go visit the Synagogue of the Outback Museum.

This is one of the museums preserved and cared for by the Broken Hill Historical Society.

And it’s open today, from 10 am to 3 pm. (Also open Sundays and Mondays, 10 am to 3 pm.)

The museum is built around what was the old Rabbi’s residence, and the Synagogue itself.

So as a museum, it houses lots of the history of Jewish immigrants into broken Hill from the late 19th century.

It also has some unexpected treasures, with some linking Broken Hill with the sinking of the Titanic!

Lots more about the Synagogue Museum here.
