Some news from the Society

Below, various bits of news about the Society’s museums:

  • Reminder that the next General meeting will be Monday 9 September 7pm, with guest speaker, Marlene Bettes, Coordinator of the Silverton School Educational Museum, speaking on Silverton history and its people; tea and coffee provided.
     
  • The Mosque Museum closed on Saturday 7 September for refurbishment, including installation of showcases and site signage; work is anticipated to be completed by 5 October. We will let you know when this museum is re-opening. Also note that from re-opening, this Society museum will also be charging entry fees.
  • The Silverton School Educational Museum’s refurbishments are continuing well. It’s possible, but not entirely firm as yet, that the School Museum will be able to re-opening October. We’ll keep you posted.

    The Society has introduced new entry fees for both the Silverton Gaol Museum, and the Synagogue Museum, as follows:
    • Silverton Gaol Museum:
      • $8.00  adults
      • $7.00 concession
      • $4.00 children
    • Synagogue of the Outback Museum
      • $5.00 adults
      • $4.00 concession
      • $3.00 children
